Koivikko Farm

Koivikko farm is a unique medium-sized Lappish farm since 1972. The farm has cattle, about 20 cows, heifers and calves. There are also Finnish horses of varying ages. Some of them are born on Koivikko farm. It is possible to visit the farm. Visitors are welcome from the beginning of June to the end of April. The duration of the tour is about 2,5 hours. The minimum size of the group is 10 persons and the maximum size is 20. The tour includes the presentation of the farm and its history. After the presentation visitors will go into the cow-house and the stable. The machines and the Lappish countryside have also important roles on the tour. In the end of the tour coffee and pancakes will be made in the barbeque hut.

There is also a chance to go on a sleigh ride or horse-drawn carriage ride for an extra charge.

Farm arranges also sleigh ride tours from November to April. The minimum size of the group is 3 and the maximum is 20. At the end of the tour warm juice is served in the barbeque hut. Sleigh ride tours are not arranged if the temperature falls below –20 Celsius. Booking should be made at least 48 hours in advance.

It is possible to buy home made Lappish cheese by ordering. Koivikko farm is located about 5 kilometres from the Kurtakko racecourse towards the direction of Kolari.
