The Village of Kurtakko The genuine Lappish village with its fifty or so houses is located in the Tornio River Valley, in the municipality of Kolari. If you appreciate good food and products from lappish nature, we recommend Restaurant Ylläksen Pihvikeisari in Ylläsjärvi, which is about 15-20 minutes drive from Kurtakko. A highlight of the summer is the trotting race on the village's own race course, attracting people and participants from near and far. The village has a two teacher school. You will be able to get safely into the heart of Finland's greatest bog land, Teuravuoma from Kurtakko using the duckboards. The duckboard trail starts from the centre of the village.
